The NY Times editorial Rushing Off a Cliff nutshells the new torture bill. Though it’s appalling what was voted through yesterday, it’s far from surprising, considering the paths not taken. A case where the fine and big print in the tea leaves was seen by too many as not a warning but a dandy plan.
