Have been finishing up a number of photos I took several years ago of sculptures at the Imperial Rome Exhibit at Fernbank. This seemed a natural progression. Have also been working a few days on getting up some notes on Antonioni’s “Zabriskie Point”. So, the interest in how Old Navy stages its mannequins in their campaigns follows. I’ve always wondered if they were inspired by “Zabriskie Point” and if they get the irony or not.

March 23rd, 2010 | by adminThey like to burn trash in the mountains. We drove around some Chattanooga countryside yesterday and saw numerous “back yard” fires, probably leaves, branches and brush. I read there’s a burning ban from May to September and I guess after that one could torch their house if they were so inclined. But not during May through September.
I’m ever the fan of car window views and their reflections. This is Mr. Bill’s Restaurant up somewhere around a place called Soddy Daisy in Tennessee.
Beautiful clouds preceded cooler air by the space of a quick meal. Someone with a view from a skyscraper would have gotten wonderful shots. Down on the street, I tried, but came up empty.

Was wild getting out of the car at Ruby Falls today and being greeted by Bolan and T. Rex on the sound system. And Marty noted that Killer Queen was playing when we left.
Ruby Falls is a pretty easy-going cavern experience even in the tight spots. H.o.p. was subdued and yet declared it, “Awesome”, in a subdued voice. “Awesome.” Then when we got home he was, “Ruby Falls was awesome!”
Our visit was actually nicer this time than it was four years ago. It being Labor Day weekend the cavern was pretty well jammed with tour groups. I didn’t know that Ruby Falls would be such a popular international destination. Many Germans, UK, Chinese and East Indians today. About half of our group was from England.
Nearly 3 months ago, I put up on Flickr a photo I’d taken of a John Deere tractor (road construction) wanting to see how long it would take for a John Deere fan to find and favorite. Finally happened today. There’s nothing in the persons favorites but John Deere, as I suspected would be the case.
