I absolutely love that painting. I have a bit of thing for chickens and have a fake stuffed chicken in a box in my kitchen. Very obviously fake. But I saw it in a shop window and just had to have it.

I like the new look too. I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit more regularly recently but I'll try to drop in more than I have...

Nina, it hit fairly suddenly here as well. I heard wind and went to the window. Within a couple of minutes the rain came.

Winds grabbed some branches off a large tree in the yard of the hospital and flung them threw the glass of the window of another resident in our building. They also appeared to break the windshield of a car below.

Good to hear that you didn't get any wind damage from your trees.

you know, the more I look at this painting of yours, the more things there are to see and think about. I wish I could see the filmy transparent edges around the crown of the tree better. It looks like there are some interesting things in there that I can't quite see.

Well, the storm hit but we lost power only briefly. The lights kept dimming and flickering and I think we lost power for maybe 1 minute and then it was back. But that was one ferocious storm. And it seemed to come out of nowhere! I'd actually been napping and had barely waked up. I could see the sun up in the corner of the window and nothing seemed menacing. And in the course of 8 minutes it went from that to such a dark gray sky and the wind blowing fiercely. And we always worry about trees falling on the house now so there was that concern. There was a lot of rain and the thunder and lightning seemed to linger for about an hour. That's annoying that you had to deal with extremely drunk Tech folks. I hope they don't make a habit of such behavior. But you can't go wrong with Zesto's!

Well, thanks. I'm rather fond of it.

Were you hit by the storm last night? Our power was out for around 9 hours. We tried playing Scrabble then Monopoly but finally the heat chased us out of the apartment. we got Zesto's and sat out on the curb until 1 in the morning, talking with neighbors and being annoyed by extremely drunk GA Tech yuppies having their way with the neighborhood in a particularly unfriendly, snot-faced way. Their home base seems to be the building across the street. Damn.
