"And then I saw everyone around running…"

Guns and gunfire seem to be all over the news this week.

Apropos, Marty, on his way home, stops at the grocery store near here. Upon leaving, he almost walked right into a bullet. As he stepped out from between a row of cars, approaching ours, he hears BANG and then realizes some guy standing beside our car, about six feet away from him, has fired a gun. With the gun leveled at an unidentifiable point (not at Marty, toward something several spaces down in the lot), the guy then ran backwards past Marty.

There were around ten people in the lot. Almost all were close to the store and ran inside.

The gunman disappeared.

Marty was worried for a moment there that the guy was going to shoot him.

It was a big gun.

And that’s the excitement of the day. Marty spent a while being interviewed by the police in the grocery store, cheery Christmas music accompanying.

As Marty was leaving, a guy then entered to report to the police that he’d just seen someone with a gun wandering the street a block and a half in the opposite direction in which the parking lot gunman had fled.

I’m really glad Marty’s ok, Idyllopus. Nice detail about the cheery Christmas music playing. Surreal.

Holy crap, Idyllopus. I’m glad Marty’s “ok”. I’m guessing he’ll be dealing with the mental aftermath for awhile.

Woah. I’m really glad Marty’s okay, too. That’s really scary.

    Marty’s psychically fine. Thanks.

The cinematic value would have been higher if the gunman had slipped on a banana peel. Which, it being a grocery store parking lot, wasn’t outside the realm of possibility, though probability might not have been high.

Then again, a banana peel is a possibility in any situation, if not probable.

I can’t BELIEVE Marty has never been shot at before…..
