So just what branch are they under?

Via Think Progress

Bush claims he’s not part of the executive branch.

Vice President Cheney has exempted his office from a presidential executive order designed to safeguard classified national security information by claiming that the Office of the Vice President is not an “entity within the executive branch.” Today the LA Times reveals that the President has also exempted himself…

Well, I’m glad they got that cleared up before H.o.p. and I got into Civics, because I’ve lived all these many years falsely believing that the Offices of the President and Vice President were part of the Executive Branch, and I would have erroneously passed along the same info to H.o.p.

Can someone tell me what branch they are under? I’m serious here. I would really like to know.

Well, they’re not falling under the olive branch, that’s for sure. Maybe there was an assholiness branch that Civics class neglected to tell us about.

The US Govt website has them listed under the executive branch.

I bet the web designer is going crazy over that error. I know I would be. “How did I do that?!! Never assume! I should know, never assume!”

The web designer had also better remove any mentions of “democracy”.

Also, do people need to obey executive orders given by one not a part of the Executive branch?

Well, “executive” means people who get things done, right?

Nope, they aren’t executive. Is there a delusional branch?

well, if they are not under the executive branch, I think they must mistakenly believe they are under the dictator branch. There you can change the rules anytime you want to…..they must have believed they were under that branch for sometime, as they’ve changed several of the rules we believed our government upheld….first strike invasion, torture, spying on their own (us) and on and on…Nixon did some of these things, but he was under the monarchy branch and thought he was king. Give me an adulterer any time, FDR, Ike, John, Bill, and who the hell knows who else….or cares…..not nearly as many bodies left behind………………

I’ve never understood why anyone cares about politicians and adultery, except for caring about those who scream about it and morals and ethics and then turn out to be sleeping around themselves.

The list of what this administration has accomplished should be chiseled on a pillar on every street corner. Except there wouldn’t be room so it’d have to be highlights.

Replace the word “accomplished” with “screwed up” and I’d agree.

Screwed up could connote lack of intention. So perhaps screwed over.

How can the very people who replaced our Constitution with a ‘patriot act’ be president and vice president of anything? The government we used to have has been gone for years. These men were criminals from the start who stole their so-called ‘offices’ and have never thought of themselves even as presicent and vice president of a government they intended to destroy and suceeded. But you can’t blame it all on them.. they got a lot of help from the people we elected to protect our country. It’s all over folks face it.
